Employees in this classification perform manual work involving a variety of housekeeping tasks to assist in the maintenance of the hospital.ResponsibilitiesVacuums or sweeps, mops and wet washes floors daily. Cleans the assigned patient and non-patient care areas. Collects and transports trash, cleans and relines trash containers with plastic bags, in accordance with daily work schedule. Maintains responsibility for the following duties: - filling soap, paper towels and toilet paper dispensers. - emptying sharp boxes. - placing gowns in designated storage areas as needed. - defrosting and cleansing of assigned refrigerators on a bi-week schedule. Responsible for daily dusting of all counter tops and shelves inside/outside, also wiping of cabinets. Completes all cleaning of discharge patient units, as vacancies occur. Daily monitoring of the delivery of laundry for assigned units. Utilizes detergents, disinfectants, polishes, finishes, accordance with established guidelines. Cleaning for all isolates, warmers, IMED pumps, monitors, bill lights and any other related equipment used upon patients' discharge. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.ExperienceGenerally, requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.EducationHigh School diploma is strongly preferred.SkillAbility to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
