Overview The Operation Internship is an opportunity to learn and develop your EE, CS skills by working with ATE hardware group. Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled at an accredited college/university and who will be continuing their studies in the fall. The typical base pay range for this position is USD $39.25 - $47.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only. Responsibilities & Competencies Job Duties * Will have the opportunity to participate in / learn about designing and building hardware for ATE * Perform comprehensive design audits of legacy ATE schematics to extract and catalog high-reuse circuit blocks (e.g., power rails, signal bus interfaces, and relay control) * Execute rigorous schematic reviews to ensure adherence to electrical specifications, signal integrity best practices, and ATE-specific constraints * PCB layout to oversee the physical implementation of designs. Provide feedback during layout reviews, focusing on stack-up validation, trace routing for high-speed signals, and mechanical keep-out zones * Coordinate project milestones and logistics for the hardware team. Maintain real-time status dashboards for ongoing PCB builds, from initial schematic capture through to fabrication and assembly * This is a great opportunity for anyone planning to begin a career in the Semiconductor industry or field! Competencies * Basic understanding of electronics * Ohm's law, voltage/current measurements * Proper ESD procedures * Safe handling of wafers/IC packages * Correct setup of test fixtures, cables, load boards * Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate * Self-motivated and aptitude to learn quickly * Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong sense of professionalism Qualifications (Requirements) * Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, or related filed or equivalent * Basic understanding of semiconductors or PCB concepts * Familiarity with ESD practices * Interest in automated testing or lab work * Able to work independently at times and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction * Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your employment and criminal history * Must be 18 years of age or older Belief in Diversity Synaptics is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to workforce diversity.
