About the Role:The Compliance Officer supports the organization's compliance program by providing guidance, oversight, and risk-based recommendations for the purpose of ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, contracts, and company policies. This role collaborates with business units to monitor compliance and implement risk management strategies across the organization.This is a remote position that is based in Columbus, OH. This role may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.Compensation: $60,000+ annually, commensurate with experienceWhat You'll Do:Provide guidance on business unit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsMaintain documentation and records of policies and procedures to support audit activitiesAssist business units with regulatory reviews and examinationsAssess products, compliance, and operational risks and develop risk management strategiesManage Compliance Hotline to track and investigate reports of potential violationsCoordinate and manage deliverables to regulatory agenciesWork with assigned business units to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirementsParticipate in periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance procedures are followedEvaluate third parties (e.g., service providers and vendors) to ensure they understand and can comply with applicable laws and regulationsServe as liaison with regulators and manage regulatory relationshipsMaintain comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to Financial Services and Credit Reporting industriesIdentify issues and recommend process improvements and efficienciesDevelop technical documentation including process charts, flowcharts, and business casesOther duties as assignedWhat You'll Need:High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience developing technical documentation including process charts, flowcharts, and business casesProven ability to identify issues and implement process improvements and efficienciesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/verbal communication skillsStrong analytical skills with ability to critically analyze dataAbility to communicate tactfully and gain consensus from managementExceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detailAbility to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneouslyTeam player with strong collaborative and conflict resolution skillsExperience with or willingness to learn AI tools and emerging technologiesWhat Can Set You Apart:Bachelor's degree from accredited institution Privacy certification from the IAPP Experience in compliance, vendor management, audit, quality assurance, consumer assistance, or dispute handling within consumer reporting or financial services industryExperience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, training materials, and guidance documentsKnowledge of FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, and other relevant financial services regulationsBenefits We Offer: CBC Companies offers comprehensive healthcare benefits to eligible employees including: medical, HSA, prescription, vision, dental.
