Substitute classroom teachers bring this mission and vision to life each day by supporting classroom instruction, building relationships with students and their parents, and being committed to forwarding the mission and vision of the Ecclesial Schools Initiative.Classroom Instruction Responsibilities:Engage in instructional activities and uphold a positive classroom cultureCoach students in the key academic areas of reading, writing, and mathematicsSupport student growth in the essential habits of intellectual and moral virtueRequirementsCharacter and DispositionLoves learning and loves childrenActively engaged in the life of the ChurchPassionate about the mission and vision of The Ecclesial SchoolMaintains positive and professional tone with parents, students, families, and guestsExperience and EducationExperience working with grammar- or elementary aged children in an educational setting, in or outside of the schoolExperience in planning activities for grammar- or elementary aged childrenEducation and experience in musicExperience in cross-cultural communicationExperience in a classical Christian school as teacher or studentExperience in highly social and relational contextSpeaks Spanish as first or second languageADA CompliancePhysical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (l2-20 pounds). Sensory Requirements: Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds. Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease or pathogenic substances.
