Findlay City Schools is seeking a passionate and student-centered 2nd Grade Teacher to help young learners build strong academic foundations, social-emotional skills, and a love of learning. Under the guidance of the building principal, you will create an engaging, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.As a member of our educational team, you will implement high-quality, standards-aligned instruction while fostering a positive classroom culture grounded in Excellence, Opportunity, and Belonging.Essential FunctionsPlan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.Implement district-approved curriculum and instructional strategies that support academic growth and student engagement.Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities, English learners, and those needing enrichment.Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.Foster social-emotional learning, responsible citizenship, and a sense of belonging in the classroom.Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance.Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student learning, behavior, and goals.Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention specialists, and support staff to enhance instruction and student outcomes.Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school initiatives.Support and enforce school and district policies and procedures.Additional DutiesUndertake other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or district administration.Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of current instructional strategies for early elementary students.Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.Skill in classroom management and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.Valid Ohio teaching license appropriate for elementary grades (K-5).Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.Master's degree or reading endorsement preferred but not required.If you are passionate about nurturing young learners and helping students develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning, we invite you to join Trojan Country as a 2nd Grade Classroom Teacher.
