In this role, as a Royalty Administration Technician, you will contribute to the day-to-day operations within the Royalty Administration Technology Team (RATT)The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of processing royalty reports from 50+ third-party retailers on a continuous basis. You will manage a queue of time- sensitive work for which you will massage data into specific formats, research and solve data anomalies, and audit outcomes. You enjoy solving puzzles, working with numbers, and paying close attention to detail while engaging in periodic interactions with partners and internal colleagues. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a major transformation - as CD Baby creates a new, modern user experience that leverages innovative technology Downtown Music. This remote role is open to Portland based candidates, and hybrid to candidates in Los Angeles.What You Do:Receive and process monthly/quarterly sales reports from 50+ third party digital retail partnersFormat and prepare reports for earnings system (currency conversions, rate calculations, data cleanup)Import and match sales data (automatic and manual), review for accuracy, and post to client accountsManage accounts receivable and partner relationships; follow up on reports, payments, and discrepanciesTrack incoming payments (wire/check/PayPal) and ensure proper account fundingMaintain reporting and A/R tracking spreadsheets; oversee quality control of imported sales dataSupervise and delegate tasks to Digital Accounting Assistant, including matching and audit processesCollaborate with Accounting and Data teams to improve reporting efficiency and systemsCommunicate reporting updates to Customer Service and respond to client inquiries professionallyReview digital partner contracts to ensure accurate payment calculations and complianceInvoice partners for encoding fees and follow up on outstanding balancesUtilize SSMS, SSIS, MapForce, and custom in-house utilitiesSupport special projects and additional accounting duties as assignedWho You Are:2+ years of professional work experience (understanding of Royalty Accounting, Accounting/Finance)Strong data manipulation skills, including proficiency with SQL based queries and advanced spreadsheet methodologiesMust have a strong analytical mind and highly proficient using ExcelPays close attention to detail, is curious, and enjoys solving puzzlesMust be skilled at communication (verbal and written), and be professional and friendly on the phones and in emailsExcellent organizational skills, Positive attitude, team-orientedYou are enthusiastic about working in an exciting and creative industry (like music!).Why you want to work here: Ample opportunities to work with leaders and employees across our businessWork in a collaborative environment full of mission driven, innovative, and passionate peopleBe part of an open, welcoming, and inclusive cultureCD Baby provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The pay rate for this contract position is $28 - $33/hr. As a candidate for this position, your pay rate will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills.
