Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 26 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity:RN - Med Surg Job Details:• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM• Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 hours weekly (must be indicated on submission)• 13-week assignment length• Work every other weekend as required by facility• No call requirements• May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on day shift (ratios not guaranteed)• Work with 30-bed general surgery unit treating surgical patients (GI, GU, Plastics, Overflow Ortho)• Required certifications: BLS from AHA only• Preferred certifications: ACLS from AHA, TNCC• Must have 1 year medical surgical experience (inpatient only)• Current RN license eligible for Missouri licensure required• Work with equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, SCD machines, PCA pumps, low air loss mattresses, remote telemetry monitors• Use EPIC electronic medical record system• Dress code: Black scrubs, Mercy M Wear only• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift - must be available entire week for orientation• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1-April 1• Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort• Must be patient-focused team player Facility:This healthcare organization has been serving the South St. Louis County area for over 140 years, providing compassionate medical and specialty care.
