Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes according to production specifications. Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs. Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments. Load raw material bar stock and unload finished parts efficiently. Conduct routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and tooling changes. Adjust offsets and compensate for tool wear to maintain part tolerances. Recommended Qualifications2+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, G-code, and M-code for machine setup and adjustments. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality inspection. Experience with tool changes, offset adjustments, and basic troubleshooting of common machine issues. Ability to monitor machine performance, identify potential problems, and ensure part quality meets specifications. Bonus QualificationsExperience with CMM or other advanced optical/laser inspection equipment. Basic G-code editing and program optimization skills. Demonstrated ability in preventative maintenance and minor machine troubleshooting. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
