Staff Accountant

STAFF ACCOUNTANTLOCATION: Halethorpe, MD (Hybrid 3 days a week in office) SALARY: 70-80K Base HOURS: Flexible - core hours are 9-3 OFFERING: Paid leave for full and part-time employees Medical, dental and vision insurance plans Prescription drug coverage 401k retirement planning with annual company contribution Company paid Long Term Disability and Life insurance/AD&D Supplemental Life/AD&D and Short Term Disability insurance 75% Tuition reimbursement covering both work and non-work related courses Free GED program ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting Accurately prepares journal entries entering into general ledger; reconciles general ledger to ensure accounts are balanced Reconciles bank and assigned general ledger accounts accurately and timely Responsible for researching and responding to credit card chargebacks accurately and within deadlines provided by Secure Retail Maintains accurate lease accounting records in compliance with ASC 842 utilizing LeaseQuery software, including audit support Performs periodic reconciliations and internal audits of lease activity including lease obligations Assists with annual divisional budget process Assists with creating and documenting internal controls and performing audit functions Investigates any unusual activity and reports findings making recommendations for corrective action Provides back-up support to Sr. Accountant Performs other duties as assigned Financial Reporting and Analysis Recommends and assists with process and technology improvements to financial reporting and data visualization Responsible for PowerBi Finance dashboards including periodic review and reconciliation of data, changes in user access and security, and periodic training and support for budget managers. Responsible for ad hoc reporting requests and follow-up analysis EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or directly related discipline required Minimum of three years of accounting experience with specific prior responsibility for general ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation required Experience in process improvements and cloud based accounting software preferred #INAPR2026
