Job TitleEntry-Level Data Center Infrastructure TechnicianJob OverviewWe are seeking an Entry-Level Data Center Infrastructure Technician to support the installation, decommissioning, and maintenance of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on technical experience, including low-voltage cabling, desktop support, IT support, electrical work, or similar technical fields. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in structured environments while following safety, quality, and operational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in Data CentersPull, route, dress, and label copper and fiber cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic)Support rack-and-stack of network and server equipmentMaintain clean and organized work areas within the Data CenterFollow safety procedures, quality standards, and industry best practicesRead and interpret basic blueprints, floor plans, and work ordersIdentify live vs. decommissioned cabling under supervisionPerform basic copper and fiber testing with provided tools (training provided)Document work performed and maintain accurate paperworkCollaborate with team members to complete projects on timeProvide status updates to leads and supervisorsRequired Skills &BackgroundAny technical, hands-on experience, including but not limited to:Low-voltage cablingDesktop or IT supportElectrical or construction-related workTelecommunicationsField service or technical installationsAbility to use basic hand and power toolsWillingness to learn Data Center standards and processesBasic understanding of customer service principlesAbility to follow instructions and work in a team environmentComfortable working in Data Centers, including raised floors and ladder racksNice-to-Have (Not Required - Training Provided)Exposure to copper or fiber cablingFamiliarity with racks, network equipment, or patch panelsBasic understanding of wiring schemes or cable testingExperience reading diagrams, layouts, or technical documentationInterest in growing a career in Data Center or network infrastructurePhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift equipment as neededComfortable working in active Data Center environmentsAbility to work above and below raised flooringReporting StructureReports to the Operations ManagerTakes direction from Technicians, Lead Technicians, and Senior TechniciansJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
