Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Neuro Hospitalist (7-On/7-Off) McKinney, TX | Full-Time | Inpatient Hospital Role Schedule: 7 On / 7 Off Compensation: $120,000 to $155,000 per year (based on experience) Overview A growing inpatient neurology service in the McKinney, Texas area is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its neuro hospitalist team. This role provides a structured 7-on/7-off rotation and the opportunity to care for patients with complex neurological and cerebrovascular conditions. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and ideal for an NP who enjoys high-acuity neurological care. Responsibilities • Manage patients with neurological and stroke conditions in inpatient settings • Perform neurological assessments and implement evidence-based treatment plans • Participate in rapid stroke response protocols • Manage seizures, neurotrauma, encephalopathy, and neuromuscular disorders • Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, critical care, and hospital medicine teams • Educate patients and families on diagnoses and treatment expectations • Accurately document all care within the EMR • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Qualifications Required: • Active RN license and ACNP certification (TX or compact eligible) • Current BLS certification • At least 2 years of inpatient or acute care NP experience • Strong neurological assessment and decision-making skills Preferred: • Neurology, stroke, Neuro-ICU, or hospitalist NP experience • NIHSS or ENLS certification • Experience with EEG interpretation, lumbar punctures, or neuro monitoring Compensation and Benefits • Salary: $120,000 to $155,000 per year • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with employer match • Paid time off and CME assistance • Relocation support if eligible • Life, disability, and malpractice coverage • Professional development and career advancement opportunities Ideal Candidate This position is ideal for a clinically strong Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who thrives in high-acuity inpatient environments, enjoys neurology, and values a predictable block schedule. #AcuteCareNP #NeuroHospitalist #NeurologyNP #StrokeCare #TexasNursingJobs #McKinneyTXJobs #HospitalMedicine #InpatientNeurology
