Welder

Welder Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a welder in our fire fabrication shop. In this position, you will be responsible for using a universal welder to make cuts and welds on steel pipe. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Reading blueprints and drawings Taking measurements to plan layouts Setting up welding machine according to specifications Welding components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Testing all machine welds to ensure quality Welding by hand any leaks found in quality penetration die test Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Four plus years of welding experience Ability to read a tape measure Pipe welding and welding certificates a plus Dependability Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical for this position Good work ethic and a willingness to learn Ability to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form Ability to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed) Must be 18 years or older Attention to detail Ability to follow directions and communicate with others Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts Ability to pass a drug test Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required Equal opportunity employer.
