Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

Position: Geriatric Psychiatrist Senior Behavioral Health Unit Location: Saranac Lake, NY Start Date: ASAP (emergency privileges available for rapid start) Duration: Ongoing Assignment Type: Inpatient geriatric psychiatry Schedule: Onsite rounding: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch) flexible; typically Nightly call: 5:00 PM 8:00 AM Weekend call: Same as nightly, as scheduled H&Ps performed by other physicians Occasional consults on Med/Surg or ED floors (infrequent) Patient Population & Census: 100% geriatric / senior behavioral health (ages 55+) 12-bed inpatient unit Average daily census: 8 12 patients Average patients seen daily: 8 12 Support & Resources: Social workers and nurses onsite Locum will be the sole psychiatrist for the unit EMR: Meditech (training provided) Dictation services available Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry not required Active NY license preferred (emergency privileges possible) Credentialing: Immediate start possible with emergency privileges
