Title: SAP Payroll Consultant Location: Plano, TX or Purchase, NY locals Structure: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Pay: 50/hr Client: A global Fortune 50 food-and-beverage leader Job Description Brooksource is seeking a mid-level SAP Payroll Functional Analyst with strong hands-on experience supporting and enhancing SAP ECC Payroll environments. This role focuses on system configuration, payroll rules, schema work, functional design, testing, integrations, and ongoing enhancements within a large-scale enterprise payroll landscape. You will partner closely with technical ABAP developers, project managers, and cross-functional HR/IT teams to deliver business-driven solutions and ensure accurate, compliant payroll operations. What You’ll Do Perform SAP ECC Payroll configuration, including schemas, PCRs, wage types, and payroll rules. Create detailed functional specifications for ABAP development and partner with technical teams through delivery. Support full testing lifecycle (unit, integration, UAT) and troubleshoot payroll defects. Build and support integrations with the clients internal systems and external vendors. Maintain and enhance custom payroll reports and configuration objects. Ensure compliance with U.S. payroll regulations, tax rules, labor laws, and the clients standards. Participate in upgrade activities and collaborate with cross-functional HR, IT, and Finance partners. Support end-to-end payroll cycles, including retroactivity, off-cycle processing, and year-end activities. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP HCM Payroll in ECC (on-prem environment). Strong U.S. Payroll expertise, including: Schema configuration and Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs) Wage type creation and configuration Retroactive accounting & off-cycle payroll Time data integration with payroll Ability to read, interpret, and modify schemas/PCRs. Experience writing functional design documentation for technical development. Hands-on experience with LSMW or BDC for data uploads. Familiarity with BSI TaxFactory, tax updates, and year-end tax processing (W‑2, W‑4). Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with HR, IT, and Finance teams. Ability to work independently while partnering with functional and technical leads.
