Qualifications: Required: BSN Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient Computer Skills Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Behavioral Health RN Certifications and Licenses Required: Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS Scheduling Requirements: Day Shift Per Diem Scheduled as needed with a minimum requirement of 2 shifts a month Will need to work 1 winter and 1 summer holiday Essential Functions: Jersey City Medical Center is the only 3rd Magnet Designated Hospital for Nursing Excellence in Hudson, Union, or Essex counties. A Registered Professional Operating Room Nurse is an integral part of the perioperative team and serves as an advocate for patients who are undergoing anesthesia and/or sedation. The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for managing nursing care within the O.R. through observing the surgical team from a broad perspective and assisting the team in creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, coordinating complete nursing assessments and care for patients and participates in patient and family teaching for assigned patients within the Operating Room. The Registered Professional Nurse in the Operating Room provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the perioperative setting.
