We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Locum Nurse Practitioner to provide essential General Medicine services on a flexible, PRN basis. In this role, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily focusing on interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments. You will perform important work that directly benefits the nation's Veterans, supporting their health and well-being. This position offers flexible scheduling options, including half- or full-day shifts, with the ability to work in your own office location, offering a rewarding and autonomous work experience. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery Ability to perform interview-based assessments and physical testing such as range of motion and muscle strength testing Strong interpersonal and communication skills Attention to detail and professional integrity Basic computer proficiency for report submission and administrative tasks Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with compensation and pension exams Familiarity with VA or military-related assessment protocols Certification in relevant medical specialties Preferred Education and Experience: Master's degree or higher in Nursing Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner Experience performing physical assessments and evaluations Other Requirements: Local candidates only, with travel included in the rates Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Willingness to complete initial training and perform initial exams to qualify for a bonus Commitment to meeting all compliance and documentation standards Compensation: Half-Day (4-hour shift or less): $600 flat rate (includes exam time, report submission, addendums) Full-Day (5 hours or more): $1200 flat rate One-time Training & First Exam Bonus: $650 Benefits: Competitive pay packages paid weekly via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2 status) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements where applicable 24/7 dedicated team supporting your success throughout your assignment If you are a dedicated healthcare professional looking to contribute to the vital mission of supporting Veterans, we encourage you to apply now.
