Job Description

Located in the Seattle, WA area, this contract opportunity requires two Bus Aides to support students during transportation for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, with a strong possibility of renewal for the 2026-2027 school year and Extended School Year (ESY) sessions. This role involves working approximately 3 hours per day (15 hours per week), split between morning and afternoon shifts. Morning hours typically run between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM, while afternoon hours are between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM. Bus Aides will provide 1:1 or 2:1 assistance to students during their transit to and from school, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Accompany students on the bus to and from school, assisting the driver with student pick-up and drop-off protocols. Provide individualized support and supervision to students with special needs during transit. Employ verbal de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies to maintain a calm atmosphere. Collaborate with drivers and school personnel to ensure student safety and comfort. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience working with special needs children in a school or transportation setting. Effective verbal de-escalation and communication skills. Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant is highly valued. Familiarity with bus routes and the ability to ride with the student prior to assignment is a plus.
