Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,690 Location: La Plata, Maryland (20646) — Southern Maryland / Charles County Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: April 27, 2026 Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Respiratory Therapist Setting: Hospital Respiratory Therapy Unit — critical care, med-surg, ER, NICU/Pediatrics coverage Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required Holiday Coverage: As scheduled Floating: Required within respiratory specialty areas Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT preferred) Active Maryland license or Compact Respiratory Therapist license at time of submission CRT or RRT credential required BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only) CPI certification (The Calm Every Storm online version) Comfortable providing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics Ability to float within hospital respiratory therapy units as needed Two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN acceptable) Travel experience required; first-time travelers considered Local candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive respiratory care and clinical support across all age groups and diagnoses Perform specialized procedures including intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care, arterial blood gas (ABG) draws, and pulmonary hygiene Administer respiratory medications and therapies (eg, albuterol, ipratropium, inhaled steroids) per protocol Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and other respiratory equipment Interpret ABGs and perform basic EKGs; participate in ventilator management and care planning Assist in high-risk deliveries and respond to rapid response and code situations as needed Float to all hospital areas requiring respiratory therapy support and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the medical record Apply now: If you are a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or CRT with hospital experience and interested in travel respiratory therapist jobs in Maryland, apply today to join our healthcare team in La Plata, MD.
