Must provide a copy of the driver's license with the application. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Description: This position requires a minimum of 1 year experience in hospital medical surgical units. The unit has 36 beds. Ratios are RN/LPN 6:1 and CNA 12:1. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. A charge nurse is present. Nurse aides are available. Telemetry is available on the unit. Nurses are not required to read strips. There are no drips or vents managed on this unit. A hospitalist is available in-house 24/7. An IV team is not available, but a PICC team may be consulted if needed. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Floating may occur occasionally. Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, altered mental status, and sepsis. The charting system is MEDITECH. A BSN is not required. Trauma level and acute care setting apply. Required certifications include BLS (AHA) and NIHSS.
