Summary The Arcadis DPS Group office in Cary, NC is seeking an Entry‑Level Project Controls Specialist to support planning, scheduling, cost management, and reporting activities for EPC/EPCM projects in the Life Sciences and Advanced Technology sectors. This developmental role is ideal for individuals with 0–3 years of experience who are eager to learn industry‑standard project controls practices and develop proficiency with both traditional tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel) and modern analytics platforms (Power BI, data visualization, and integrated reporting systems). Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6. Support schedule updates, progress measurement, logic reviews, and basic critical path analysis. Help validate schedule scope coverage and track milestones, deliverables, and planned progress. Learn to integrate engineering, procurement, and construction activities into cohesive project schedules. Assist with project budget tracking, cost data entry, and expenditure reporting. Support monthly forecasting, cost‑to‑complete analysis, and project cashflow updates. Support invoice review, AP/AR tracking, and organized financial documentation. Learn foundational earned value concepts and support monthly EV reporting. Support maintenance of project risk registers and documentation of cost and schedule risks. Assist in collecting data for trend analysis and early identification of potential issues. Participate in the change‑control process, logging changes and tracking impacts to cost and schedule. Learn baseline management practices including contingency usage and allowance tracking. Help prepare monthly project controls reports integrating cost, schedule, risks, and performance summaries. Use Excel and Power BI (training provided) to generate charts, dashboards, and visual analytics. Assist in ensuring accuracy and alignment of data across scheduling, ERP, and reporting systems. Work with engineering, procurement, construction management, estimating, and other teams to gather project data. Prepare meeting materials and assist project managers with reporting output. Participate in learning sessions, project controls training, and continuous‑improvement initiatives. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Data Analytics, or related field. Strong willingness to learn project controls concepts, tools, and modern reporting technologies. Analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks. Exposure to Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Deltek, Power BI, or similar tools through coursework or internships. Preferred (Not Required) Familiarity with or interest in earned value management, risk management, or project lifecycle concepts. Preferred (Not Required) Internship or project experience supporting engineering, construction, or technical environments.
