Hazmat Yard Worker WasteXpress Environmental (WXE), a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC division, is seeking a Hazmat Yard Worker who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service and skills to our company, clients, and employees. The Hazmat Yard Worker responsible for supporting daily operations by assisting with driver offloading, processing and managing hazardous and solid waste, and maintaining a clean, organized facility. They operate a forklift, ensure regulatory compliance, and may assist with field projects or yard maintenance as needed. This opening is for swing shift (2pm - 10:30 pm) with an additional $1.50/hr shift differential. Education and Experience Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License preferred 1+ years previous experience in waste management, material handling, or related field. Forklift operation experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records of waste movement. Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory standards. Previous knowledge of 49 and 40 CFRs strongly preferred. Duties and Responsibilities The Hazmat Yard Worker possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following: Safely operate and maintain company vehicles and/or other equipment (i.e forklift, other machinery, etc.) as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies Facilitate the offboarding/loading process for drivers. Process, consolidate, and aggregate various types of hazardous and solid waste. Maintain accurate records of waste movements using an electronic database. Ensure all waste is managed safely and in compliance with regulations. Safely and appropriately operate a forklift equipped with a drum grabber attachment for handling materials. Maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Perform minor yard work and cleanup duties as necessary. Assist drivers on project sites during slow periods or when additional help is required. Learn and adhere to hazardous material regulations 49 CFR and hazardous waste regulations 40 CFR. Participate in daily training sessions to stay updated on regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions: Move about the jobsite as needed. Move work related equipment up to 50lbs. Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer. Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
