Accounting Supervisor Location: Burlington, MA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite) Compensation: $95,000–$110,000 Position Overview A well-established, mission-driven organization in the insurance and financial services sector is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting. This role partners closely with the Controller and Finance leadership and plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and team development. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, prior supervisory experience, and comfort working in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Reporting Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger activity, accounts payable, and cash transactions Review and approve journal entries and monthly account reconciliations Maintain the chart of accounts and prepare trial balances Prepare, analyze, and review quarterly and year-end financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable statutory accounting standards Compliance & Audit Support Support all statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements Assist with preparation of audit schedules and coordination with external auditors Maintain strong internal controls to protect organizational assets Ensure adherence to internal compliance, security, and financial policies Leadership & Process Improvement Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff, providing ongoing feedback and performance evaluations Communicate department goals and expectations clearly and consistently Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency Support finance-related projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior supervisory or team lead experience required Strong knowledge of GAAP; experience with statutory or regulated insurance reporting a plus Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities Work Environment Hybrid schedule with three days onsite in Burlington, MA Standard business hours No travel required What’s Offered Competitive compensation range of $95,000–$110,000, based on experience Stable and collaborative finance organization Leadership visibility and long-term growth potential Comprehensive benefits package including retirement, insurance, and paid time off #LI-JK3 #INAPR2026
