Job Description

Energy Efficiency Specialist Join a leading energy organization focused on delivering impactful efficiency programs that reduce costs and improve building performance. The Energy Efficiency Specialist will lead project execution, vendor coordination, customer engagement, and compliance oversight for regulated energy efficiency initiatives. Energy Efficiency Specialist Overview Contract Length: Not specified Location: Newark, NJ Work Setup: Remote on Mond/Friday, in-office Tues-Thurs at Newark office + potential on-site inspection once a month Energy Efficiency Specialist Responsibilities Lead scope, schedule, and budget oversight for energy efficiency projects in alignment with BPU orders and Client procedures Manage implementation processes for approved energy efficiency programs and ensure projects meet program rules, cost-effectiveness, and QA/QC standards Coordinate vendors, contractors, customers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to keep deliverables accurate, timely, and compliant Review vendor performance, invoices, and milestone-based construction payments while supporting financial forecasting Conduct project site visits and monitor installations involving HVAC, lighting, motors, EMS, and other energy conservation measures Compile and analyze project data for management reporting, monthly forecasts, and regulatory needs Maintain strong customer relationships and enforce employee and vendor safety compliance Energy Efficiency Specialist Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree and 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency programs, construction, or a related field; or 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Knowledge of energy efficiency measures, implementation practices, and project costing Experience with vendor management, invoicing, and spend forecasting Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Valid U.S. driver s license and reliable transportation Ability to travel within Client territory for meetings, inspections, and contractor management Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Client s CEF energy efficiency order and the NJ Cost Test Building Performance Institute certification Certified Energy Manager credential Local New Jersey candidates are strongly preferred for this Energy Efficiency Specialist role.
