Details Hospital telemetry unit with 32 beds serving an adult to geriatric patient population Common diagnoses and case types include cardiac CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia), renal, pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, post cardiac cath, TR bands, DKA, surgical cases (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains), and occasional vascular, ortho, or CVA overflow patients Unit also functions as overflow IMCU Patient ratio is 1:5-6 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00) Every other weekend required Floating within the facility and scope of practice required as needed On-call is rare with a 2-hour response time required Epic (preferred) and Pyxis used for documentation and medication dispensing; SBAR communication model used Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Proficiency with cardiac drips required, including: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Bumex, Lasix, Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin, and Insulin drips Basic arrhythmia knowledge and arrhythmia management skills required Cardioversion experience required Additional Information First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Navy blue scrubs required RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work two and may request one holiday off for approval Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1) Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler Local candidates are accepted for this position No special scheduling requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time to avoid a 2-week orientation pushback American Traveler Job ID #P-680422.
