CNC Machinist Demonstrated ability to efficiently run complex machining work from setup through completion using established programs and documented processes. This includes interpreting prints/travelers; selecting appropriate tooling and workholding; setting up CNC mills (3,4,5 axis), CNC lathes (live tooling) for optimal performance; verifying all critical features; and producing a first-article part that meets all specifications. Once validated, the machinist will execute repeat production with consistency, provide feedback to improve the process, and support teammates to ensure stable, predictable results. Document and record detailed job information in ProShop Utilize on-machine Renishaw probing systems for accurate setup and verification Set up and run jobs on mills, lathes, and 5-axis platforms using existing CNC programs, including work offsets, tool offsets, and proving out first-article runs Perform first-article and in-process inspection to print requirements; escalate issues early and clearly Adhere to established quality procedures and internal processes Support production handoff and ongoing runs by mentoring machinists and providing hands-on technical help as needed Qualifications & Experience Thrives on complex challenges, collaborates naturally, and is motivated to be part of a team solving technically demanding manufacturing problems Preferred experience with Siemens CNC controls; all platforms utilize Siemens 840D Proven ability to machine high-tolerance components with consistency and accuracy Experience machining difficult materials; preferred familiarity with Monel 400/K500, Copper Nickel, Nickel Bronze, Inconel, and Titanium Ability to pass a background check (required) Why Cogitic? Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to work in an office environment or remotely. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Capability to operate technology for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time. Up to 10% travel, as required.
