Job Description

Senior Acquisition Support Specialist Join us in our fast-paced support to develop, advance, and sustain weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will be joining a team of personnel with experience and an in-depth understanding of the environments that include ground, near-space, space, and any system that operates in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD). QinetiQ is a mission-led innovation company that works with the USSF and DoD to design, develop, field, and maintain requirements essential to national security and the survivability of the warfighter. The Senior Acquisition Support Specialist is responsible for supporting acquisition processes and applying them for successful program management. The ideal candidate will have experience working with contractual efforts designed to address fulfilling near-term space and/or software requirements as well as working with higher headquarters on requirements for refinement and other mission-oriented objectives. Responsibilities include: Providing space acquisitions assistance to support any stage of the acquisition lifecycle including acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities. Revising or providing draft JCIDS and acquisition documentation and supporting the production of internal/external products, including but not limited to, Acquisition Strategies, Analysis of Alternatives, and Defense Acquisition Board documentation. Identifying areas of improvement, including acquisition process improvements as well as providing actionable, feasible recommendations for reducing risk. Performing earned value management and schedule analysis in support of defense contracts as well as providing PPBE support. Maintaining awareness of current program schedule, monitoring acquisition implementation, reporting requirement shortfalls, and providing a program assessment based on the identified risks. Advising the Government program manager on technical engagements, to include but not limited to, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, and informational meetings. Assisting with reviewing and analyzing packages including Contract Performance Reports, Contract Funds Status Reports, and Work Breakdown Structures. Assisting with the execution of source selections as well as coordinating functional meeting requests, developing source selection documentation, and reviewing/drafting proposal evaluations. Maintaining, updating, and analyzing acquisition forecasts including incorporating inputs from force design, operational imperatives, and combatant command integrated priority lists. Required qualifications include: Experience in small, agile acquisition with insight into lessons learned from large acquisitions. Strong understanding (and experience preferred) of contractual efforts designed to address fulfilling near-term requirements. Demonstrated history of working with space and/or software related acquisitions. Both preferred. Experience with drafting and staffing broad-spectrum program planning and execution documentation for milestone activities, command and acquisition chain updates and approvals, contract planning and execution, and financial planning and execution. Expertise in preparing budgets through the PPBE cycle and managing finances to meet obligations and expenditure goals. Prior development in working with higher headquarters on requirements including strategic-level documents. Understanding acquisition processes applied for successful program management. Knowledge in DoD acquisition and financial systems as well as various contract strategies and vehicles including understanding their applications to meet rapid acquisition timelines. Expertise in developing and executing acquisition strategy plans. Expertise in developing and managing programmatic schedules (e.g., Integrated Master schedules) as well as acquisition documentation to meet higher-level requirements. Expertise in acquisition and programmatic risk management, especially on classified acquisition programs with understanding of the nuances associated with security, IT, manpower, etc. Experience Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to identify and solve problems. Masters Degree 10+ years of relevant experience TS SCI Eligibility Preferred qualifications include: Experience with Air Force, Space Force, and/or Space Systems Command Pay transparency: The salary range for this role is $46,400- $59,350 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
