Position Description The Project Management Consultant plays a hands-on, consultative role in helping client teams plan and deliver work effectively—regardless of methodology. Success in this role means stepping into complex project or program environments and supporting execution through proactive problem-solving, structured facilitation, and a flexible delivery mindset. The ideal candidate is outcome-oriented, adaptable, and able to guide teams using traditional, agile, or hybrid approaches depending on the context. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholders to define scope, goals, success criteria, key deliverables, and required resources. Support teams in structuring and managing work—whether through project plans, visual work management tools, or iterative delivery frameworks. Facilitate key Agile events (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups) and/or project meetings as appropriate. Coach teams on Agile best practices and help optimize workflows using Scrum, Kanban, or scaled agile frameworks. Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and blockers across projects or workstreams. Maintain alignment and transparency through tailored reporting and clear, proactive communication with stakeholders. Engage with external vendors or partners and coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery. Foster a continuous improvement mindset by helping teams reflect, learn, and adapt regularly. Champion a focus on value-driven delivery and help stakeholders prioritize efforts that contribute most to business outcomes. Identify opportunities to streamline or redesign workflows by applying technology and automation in a pragmatic, results-oriented way. Adjust approach and cadence as needed to align with team maturity, business urgency, or sponsor expectations. Required Skills: Proven track record of leading or supporting delivery efforts in cross-functional or matrixed environments. Familiarity with a range of delivery methods, including Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid models. Experience facilitating Agile events and applying Agile principles within or across teams. Strong interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to influence without authority. Previous consultant experience is a plus. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities while keeping teams focused on value delivery. Effective communicator with the ability to synthesize and share information with technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency with visual work and project management tools such as the Atlassian suite (Jira, Jira Plans, Jira Align), Smartsheet, or similar platforms. Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through data storytelling. Experience using data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees are a plus. Certifications such as PMP, PSM, CSM, and SAFe are valued. 5+ years of experience supporting or managing technology, business process, or cross-functional project work, with demonstrated project management and agility experience.
