Warehouse Packer

Job BriefThe successful Distribution Center (DC) Packer is responsible for assembling customer orders from stock by placing them on pallets or in bins, verifying items on the order for accuracy, and packing all items using proper procedures. The employee will ensure orders are shipped in a timely manner and all appropriate updates are made in the computer system. The employee may be asked to assist with receiving incoming shipments, stocking, and organizing incoming items as needed.__Responsibilities Assemble customer orders from stock by placing orders on pallets or in binsVerify items on order for accuracyPack all items using proper procedures to prevent damagesInclude packing slip with each orderProcess orders through online shipping service or other approved carriersAssists in regular and special inventories, audits, and countsAdhere to company policies and procedures as detailed in the Employee HandbookDemonstrate an understanding of Surplus City’s quality policies; establish procedures for maintaining quality objectivesMaintain a safe, orderly, and clean working environmentMake recommendations and provide feedback to improve operational excellence and efficiencyEnsure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely mannerFollows all safety procedures by SOP local instruction and by supervisionAny additional responsibilities as assigned by Leadership Team Requirements & Qualifications 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment (preferred)High school diploma or equivalentForklift experience a plus, but we can trainAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirementsBasic computer skills preferredBasic problem-solving skillsExcellent attendance record requiredLift up to 100 lbs regularlyAvailability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekendsAbility to pass a standard drug test and background checkLift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weightsStand, sit, or walk for extended periods of timeOperate powered industrial lift trucks to push, pull, lift, stack, or move product, equipment, and materialsReach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneelTolerate hot and/or cold environments This job requires the ability to: Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 100 lbs regularly.Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of timeOperate powered industrial lift trucks to push, pull, lift, stack, or move product, equipment, and materialsReach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneelTolerate hot and/or cold environments
