Description At Bridgewater Retirement Community (BRC), the CNA Pathway is an important part of our Nursing Household teams. Team members in this pathway will work as a Homemaker prior to attending the CNA class. While this role does not include hands-on care such as bathing or toileting, it plays a key role in supporting daily operations and preparing individuals for future caregiving roles. The primary purpose of the CNA Pathway is to prepare team members for our upcoming CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) classes. While working in the Homemaker role, individuals will have the opportunity to build relationships with residents, learn the flow of our households, and develop the foundational skills and professionalism expected of CNAs. Whether you're just starting out in senior care or looking to grow into a licensed position, this entry-level pathway is designed to set you up for success. Why BRC Offers the CNA Pathway Offer a clear pathway into the CNA profession with paid, in-person classes offered every other month depending on scheduling needs Ensure new team members understand our household model and care philosophy Provide much-needed non-clinical support to CNAs and nurses Help residents receive more time and attention from a well-supported team Key Responsibilities (Homemaker Role) Assist with household tasks such as setting up meals, light cleaning, and laundry Restock resident rooms and supply carts (linens, gloves, hygiene items) Deliver items like meals, laundry, and supplies throughout the household Sanitize common areas and maintain a tidy environment Engage socially with residents and assist with informal activities Communicate observations or concerns to the team (non-clinical) Learn the household flow and resident routines in preparation for CNA training RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable and proactive-you show up, step in, and follow through Ability to perform physical tasks such as light lifting (up to 25 lbs), walking, bending Must be at least 16 years old and able to pass background and reference checks Interest in becoming a CNA is required (CNA class entry is part of the role) Prior experience in senior living, service, or caregiving is a plus, but not required Why Work at BRC Join a team that values purpose, people, and personal growth Competitive pay and benefits for full-time team members Supportive, inclusive culture rooted in nonprofit values Beautiful campus and strong community connection Real opportunities to grow-from Care Partner to CNA to Med Aide and beyond
