Job Description

Responsible for supporting Assembly operations by assisting with material flow, workstation preparation, and general production support activities. This position helps streamline processes, reduce downtime, and improve overall throughput within the Assembly department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring Assemblers can focus on value-added tasks by maintaining organized work areas, staging materials, and supporting continuous workflow throughout production. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Stage materials, hardware, and tools for Assembly jobs to ensure readiness • Assist with kitting and preparation of parts prior to assembly • Support Assemblers by maintaining clean, organized, and efficient workstations • Transport parts and completed jobs between departments (assembly, inspection, shipping, etc.) • Ensure proper labeling and handling of materials and components • Assist with inventory organization and material tracking • Identify and communicate workflow inefficiencies to supervision • Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, organization, process flow) • Maintain production flow to minimize downtime and delays • Assist other departments as needed to support overall production goals • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments • Meet production goals in support of cycle time, throughput, and quality • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of one year experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred • Experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop setting a plus • Familiarity with assembly processes and material handling preferred REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. • Familiar with safety standards and PPE utilized in a manufacturing setting • Must have reliable transportation and work overtime as needed • Ability to read, write and understand English • Basic understanding of blueprints preferred • Ability to use basic hand tools • Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision • Problem solving skills a must • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
