Electrical Estimator

Job Title: Electrical Estimator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team and provide accurate estimates for electrical construction projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage projects as needed and prepare detailed estimates from bid documents, including design/build input. You will play a vital role in reviewing contract documents and drawings, submitting RFIs for scope and design clarification, and attending pre-construction walkthroughs and coordination meetings. Responsibilities * Estimate electrical construction projects with precision and manage projects as necessary. * Prepare detailed estimates from bid documents, including design/build input. * Review contract documents and drawings, and submit RFIs for scope and design clarification. * Attend pre-construction walkthroughs and coordination meetings. * Issue requests for quotes (RFQs) with complete material take-offs (MTOs) to approved suppliers per bid requirements. * Negotiate pricing and buy-out numbers with suppliers. * Develop and submit detailed proposal letters or bid forms to general contractors and developers. * Generate complete submittal packages upon project award. * Coordinate construction schedules with general contractors and developers. * Attend jobsite and project meetings as required. * Manage, price, and track change orders throughout the project lifecycle. * Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers. * Maintain and update electrical pricing databases and labor/material units. * Create and maintain assemblies within estimating software. * Perform additional estimating and project management responsibilities as assigned. Essential Skills * Working knowledge of current national and local electrical codes. * Demonstrated experience as an estimator or in a similar role; 3+ years of experience preferred. * Strong understanding of electrical trade services; Chicagoland market experience preferred. * Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and dependability. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * Strong work ethic with a reputation for integrity, discretion, and professionalism. * Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, and internal team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Knowledge of electrical codes and standards. * Experience in site inspections and quality control. * Familiarity with Procore is a plus. Work Environment This position requires working in-office and onsite. Remote work flexibility is available only in extenuating circumstances such as illness or emergencies. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Itasca, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
