The Fancy Stitcher is responsible for executing intricate decorative stitching and custom design elements on boot uppers. This position combines technical sewing expertise with artistic precision to produce high-quality, durable, and visually distinctive cowboy boots that meet Lucchese standards.The Fancy Stitcher supports production goals while maintaining alignment with company values, safety standards, and quality expectations.Scope of job:The Fancy Stitcher performs specialized stitching operations on boot components, including decorative patterns, inlays, overlays, and tooling details. This role requires advanced sewing skills, precision pattern alignment, and strong attention to aesthetic detail.Work is performed using industrial sewing machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, durability, and production efficiency are essential.Duties/Responsibilities:Cut and sew boot components, including front and back sections, using industrial sewing machines.Read and interpret production tickets and work orders prior to assembling or stitching components.Execute decorative stitching on 3-piece vamps (3PC), foxing, collars, cord applications, tooling, and other design elements.Sew inlays and overlays with accurate alignment and consistent stitch quality.Select appropriate materials, thread types, stitch patterns, and techniques for each style.Perform alterations, minor repairs, and finishing work as needed.Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, durability, and adherence to Lucchese quality standards.Maintain sewing equipment and ensure proper machine operation.Keep workstation organized and compliant with safety guidelines.Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality expectations.Quality & Production ExpectationsMaintain consistent stitch length, spacing, and pattern symmetry.Ensure decorative stitching aligns precisely with design specifications.Minimize rework and material waste through careful craftsmanship.Support team production flow and meet departmental efficiency standards.Required Skills/Abilities: Strong visual acuity to inspect detailed stitching work.Ability to read and interpret production tickets and patterns.Knowledge of industrial sewing equipment and stitch techniques.High attention to detail and pattern precision.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in boot manufacturing, leather goods production, or an industrial sewing environment required.Prior experience operating industrial sewing machines strongly preferred.Experience with decorative stitching or custom leather work preferred.Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven manufacturing environment.Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers for repetitive sewing motions.Ability to maintain focus and precision throughout repetitive tasks.Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds as needed.Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for detailed stitching work.Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with potential overtime after the regular shift and/or on Saturdays based on production needs.
