Scalehouse Attendant

Snelling Staffing is hiring a Scalehouse Attendant to work at a busy recycling and materials facility. This position is the "front desk of the yard" - you are the first person drivers and customers interact with when they arrive. You'll be inside a scale office, communicating with truck drivers, weighing loads, processing transactions, and helping keep the operation running smoothly. What You'll Do You will: • Greet customers and truck drivers arriving at the facility • Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks using a computerized scale system • Calculate charges and process payments • Answer questions and direct traffic safely through the yard • Enter data and complete daily reports • Maintain safety awareness and ensure loads meet guidelines • Keep the scale office organized and clean This role combines customer service + clerical + light operations support. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED • Comfortable using computers and typing • Basic math skills (you will calculate charges) • Good communication skills • Reliable attendance (very important for this position) Helpful but not required • Cash handling • Dispatching • Logistics, warehouse, or trucking experience • Front desk or customer service experience Work Environment You will work inside a scale office but interact with an outdoor industrial environment. Expect: • Noise from trucks and equipment • Dust, weather changes, and odors occasionally • Light physical activity (lifting Safety equipment is provided and required.
