Material Handler / Equipment Operator The Material Handler / Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and servicing of mechanical, motorized, and electrical equipment within the facility. This role ensures the accurate and timely movement of goods while supporting overall logistics, material handling, and distribution operations. Key Responsibilities Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and hand trucks in a safe and efficient manner Perform routine inspections and basic servicing of equipment to ensure proper functionality Safely move materials and products to and from designated locations within the facility Load and unload shipments while maintaining product integrity Follow all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment Maintain accurate inventory movement and material tracking Support warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals Knowledge & Skills Basic understanding of logistics, supply chain, and material handling processes Knowledge of distribution and transportation procedures Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety standards Effective communication and teamwork skills Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred Previous experience operating forklifts or similar equipment preferred Forklift certification (if required by facility) Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required by the role Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Work Environment Warehouse or distribution center setting Exposure to moving machinery and varying temperatures Requires standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods
