We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical and engineering support in the development, design, and execution of capital and maintenance projects within a chemical or refining environment. This role will collaborate across multiple departments, manage project timelines, and ensure successful implementation from concept through completion. Qualifications B.S. in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical preferred) 2-3 years of experience in project management within a petrochemical, refining, or chemical processing environment Knowledge of project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Key Responsibilities Develop detailed project design specifications from conceptual ideas with minimal direction Prepare and conduct project review presentations to align with stakeholders and refine project details Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure design, safety, and operational requirements are met Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates, justifications, and project documentation for management approvals Develop and manage project schedules to ensure on-time completion while optimizing available resources Monitor all phases of project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines Coordinate and oversee contractors, consultants, vendors, and design services as needed Specify and procure materials, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with design codes and process requirements Document all phases of design, construction, and installation to maintain quality and regulatory compliance Lead or participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process, including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) Provide post-installation follow-up, including equipment documentation, preventive maintenance planning, spare parts acquisition, and lessons learned Support shutdown planning, engineering specifications, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance and Engineering departments
