SUMMARY: Assistant to the technology departments' daily operations, and support of software applications used to provide accurate, timely, documented information necessary for local, state, and federal reporting for the intermediate unit and supporting districts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.) To provide the IU and member districts with the resources, information, and training required for the production of accurate, timely, and documented reports necessary to their operations and programs. Maintain an IU database of student information in compliance with all state and federal requirements; coordinating all student records between districts Monitor districts in their development and use of database Train districts in any new data applications (software or state defined requirements Communicate to districts any changes in state or federal reporting requirements Represent district interests at PDE trainings Assist in Penn Data activities as related to Early Intervention files: data collection, data entry, compliance Produce billing documentation for Business Office on services rendered of Itinerant staff Coordinate and produce 12/1 IDEA count for School Age districts and Early Intervention Coordinate and produce 6/30 reporting of all special education students of transition age for the inclusion of the school year, including exits Maintain and respond to communications from districts and IU staff regarding ad hoc/specific reporting needs Initiate or assist in the development of forms required by new or changed requirements of applications Maintain communication with IU tech staff to keep current of on going technical changes that impact the student tracking application Manage and maintain contact information / group membership of the Blackboard mass communication system Manage and maintain contact information / group membership of internal systems Assist in daily operations and systems within the technology department including but not limited to requisitions, billing, IUPTS reporting, and group calendar maintenance Manage and coordinate IUTPS ticketing assignments, progress checking and weekly reporting Coordinate the preparation and coordination of technology contracts including but not limited to hosting services, field staff services, websites and Keystone Financials Maintain duties related to IU hardware, software and service consortiums Provide required trainings and instructional materials to IU and district clients upon request Other duties as requested by the director of technology SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree; or Associate's Degree with 2 years of educational agency experience; or 5 years experience in Student Information Systems environment. Management or supervisory experience in data collection, data analysis, and reporting Ability to research and interpret local, state, and federal reporting needs Basic knowledge of educational operations and programs in the areas of Child Accounting/Attendance, Billing, and Special Education LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and professional correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff, teachers, parents. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply technical concepts to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current student accounting practice;. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district professionals and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication. Competent in the use of computer technology.
