This position offers: $1000.00 SIGN-ON BONUS New hires must meet employment eligibility requirements:- E-Verify background check- Drug testBonus will be paid out upon completion of 90 days of employment with total net amount paid after taxes.Job SummaryThe Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, and service of the company's vehicles and landscaping equipment. This role ensures that all machinery and equipment are operational, safe, and efficient, supporting the smooth functioning of landscaping operations. The mechanic will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and repair various types of landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, carts and vehicles. The individual must be proficient with mechanical and technical skills, have good problem-solving skills and good communication skills for interacting with team members. This position reports directly to the Fleet Manager and works closely with Fleet Shop Manager, the crew leaders and branch team.Core ValuesCulture of Safety - Safety is always job #1A Growing Tradition Plants, Personally, Financially and ProfessionallyEmployee Owned - Personal Pride in Success with an Owners MentalityExceptional Customer Experience - Delighting our Clients with our Products and ServicesGood Neighbors - Community Pride - Sharing our SuccessRespectability - Treating Others as we want to be treatedDuties/ ResponsibilitiesFollow safety rules and regulationsPerform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, tire changes and other vehicle servicesComplete basic work service orders, sharpen blades, replace string lines and filtersRepair vehicles, trailers, carts and equipment correctly, safely, and efficientlyEvaluate the return and condition of landscape equipment, making repair recommendationsEnsure equipment is clean, properly maintained and in good working orderProvide updates, recommendations, and regular communication to Shop Manager and Fleet ManagerMaintain service records with accurate documentation for all work performed on each unitKeep work area and shop common areas clean and organizedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsEducation and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent desired1+ Years of experience performing service repairs1+ Years of experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Small Engine TechnicianExcellent interpersonal and communication skills a mustMust possess a current Class C Driver's License with clean MVR recordsAbility to read and write the English languageBilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not requiredProficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of landscape equipmentPhysical RequirementsHave full range of mobility in upper and lower bodyBe able to reach overheadBe able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of timeBe able to pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasksBe able to lift 75 pounds.Position may require extended work hours and flexibility in schedulingTravel to other locations in and out of state may be required and may include overnight staysThis work may be performed outside in all sorts of weather conditions (i.e., hot, humid, cold, wet, windy, rain, snow) which means the person will need to be adequately preparedThis Job Description is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities comprising the position.
