Hourly rate: $34.87 after completion of training Sign-on Bonus of $1,000 and an additional $500 if you have a current DHS ICE Clearance. Sign-on bonuses are contingent upon completing the 6-month probationary period with satisfactory attendance, performance, and no disciplinary issues. Responsibilities Performs duties as an unarmed male detention officer related to detention, searching of male detainees, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required in the contract. Exercises surveillance and control over male detainees and maintains order and discipline. Attends to male housing units, feeding, lavatories and the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day. Makes official entries in the assigned post logbooks that are legible and complete. Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility. Provides care, custody and control of detainees. Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures. Guards detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care and when and other duties as assigned. Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures. Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies. Successfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and course requiring a minimum physical stamina.
