Job Details Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Columbus nursing jobs, Ohio travel nurse opportunity) Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Surgical/Trauma/Ortho, Telemetry Assignment Length: 13 weeks (June 7, 2026 - September 6, 2026) Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30), 3 shifts per week Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 - $2,160 Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 1:4 (PCU nurse staffing, telemetry ratios) Float: May be required to float to other units within the organization as needed Job Requirements and Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience preferred (PCU RN experience, surgical/trauma/ortho experience) Valid RN license: compact nurse license acceptable or Ohio RN license required at time of submission (Ohio nursing jobs, Columbus RN) Graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience with Epic electronic health record required (Epic charting experience for travel nurses) Previous charge nurse experience and Level I Trauma experience preferred Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing (travel nurse onboarding requirement) Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role) Primary Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care/telemetry setting Manage and monitor patients with acute orthopedic trauma, surgical and trauma-related diagnoses (SBO, falls, lacerations, PNA, TBI, fractures) Perform and manage advanced skills: BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, central line and PICC care, chest tube and feeding tube management, cardiac and insulin drips, telemetry monitoring, and complex wound care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT/OT, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response/code teams to optimize patient outcomes Accurate and timely documentation using Epic EHR (electronic charting, order entry, care coordination) Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and hospital safety standards Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed Float to other units within the organization when required and support unit staffing needs Experience the energy and opportunity of Columbus while advancing your career as a travel nurse.
