Driver - Kitting (B-shift M-F 2PM-10:30PM) Under the direction of the shift supervisor and/or the shift team leader, the CDL Shuttle Driver will be responsible for operating a semi-tractor trailer vehicle for the loading and delivery of products to/from the plant to the warehouse in a manner consistent with all safety, quality, and operational work instructions. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Responsible for safely operating the shuttle vehicle on each trip. Must follow all applicable laws and company policy. Responsible for accounting for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles. Must function and interact on a daily basis with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements. Must communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations, and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner. Must maneuver trucks into loading and unloading position, following signal from loading crew as needed. Also place safety wheel chocks in front of wheel/tire to prevent the trailer from rolling. If pup trailer movement is involved; extra care must be taken on the placement of the trailer jack stand (when at dock, jack stand must be on the ground and in a locked position). If there is not a jack stand installed on the trailer the customer must be notified. Proper use of Airline/Electrical hookup/and Backing procedure is a must. Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard Other duties include: Performs other duties as assigned. Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary. Supervisory responsibilities include: None Minimum required qualifications include: Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have tractor trailer experience. Must have a clean driving record. Satisfactory completion of Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for tractor trailer operation. Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate. Skills, knowledge, and abilities include: Basic computer skills English (reading, writing, verbal) Basic math Must be able to work as assigned outside and in a warehouse environment. Ability to read and follow manufacturer's instruction manuals. Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or within a group. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance. Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment. Physical demands include: Occasionally bending Frequently walking and standing Constantly sitting Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11-20 pounds Reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel. Work environment includes: Rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
