Duties and ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment. Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun. Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified. Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes. Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area. QualificationsMust be dependable. Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to follow directions. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea. High attention to detail and self-motivation skills. Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED A minimum of two years of building emergency apparatus Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk over 95% of work time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, with exposure to occasional temperatures below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees. Agility to bend to floor-level shelves and reach upper shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
