Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Three Rivers, MI

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in stepdown or progressive care nursing to provide exceptional care to general medical and oncology stepdown patients. This contract position is based in Three Rivers, MI, on a specialized stepdown unit focused on med/surg oncology care. Key Responsibilities: Administer chemotherapy via IV safely and competently Initiate and manage IV lines for patients Monitor vital signs using Welch Allyn towers and operate Sigma IV pumps Document patient care efficiently using EPIC electronic health records Provide patient-centered nursing care with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6, adjusted for acuity Float as needed to other med/surg areas, including adult units and ER for med/surg patient coverage Collaborate with support staff and charge nurses to optimize patient outcomes Qualifications & Experience: Active Michigan RN license BLS certification from the American Heart Association ONCC or ONS certification required; pending ONS certification accepted, but ONCC must be current and in hand Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU or stepdown nursing Proficient with chemotherapy administration and IV starts Comfortable working night shifts and floating across units Schedule & Shift Details: Night shift hours: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week Every other weekend coverage required Scheduling includes self-scheduling options with some managerial assignment, block scheduling requests accommodated upon notification No call requirements; floating responsibilities included Location Overview:Three Rivers, MI, offers a welcoming community surrounded by natural beauty and recreational activities.
