Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in stepdown or progressive care nursing to provide exceptional care to general medical and oncology stepdown patients. This contract position is based in Three Rivers, MI, on a specialized stepdown unit focused on med/surg oncology care.Key Responsibilities:Administer chemotherapy via IV safely and competentlyInitiate and manage IV lines for patientsMonitor vital signs using Welch Allyn towers and operate Sigma IV pumpsDocument patient care efficiently using EPIC electronic health recordsProvide patient-centered nursing care with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6, adjusted for acuityFloat as needed to other med/surg areas, including adult units and ER for med/surg patient coverageCollaborate with support staff and charge nurses to optimize patient outcomesQualifications & Experience:Active Michigan RN licenseBLS certification from the American Heart AssociationONCC or ONS certification required; pending ONS certification accepted, but ONCC must be current and in handMinimum 2 years of experience in PCU or stepdown nursingProficient with chemotherapy administration and IV startsComfortable working night shifts and floating across unitsSchedule & Shift Details:Night shift hours: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per weekEvery other weekend coverage requiredScheduling includes self-scheduling options with some managerial assignment, block scheduling requests accommodated upon notificationNo call requirements; floating responsibilities includedLocation Overview:Three Rivers, MI, offers a welcoming community surrounded by natural beauty and recreational activities.
