Dedicated to Excellence, Committed to Service Production Cook A Production Cook is responsible for the preparation of dishes for meals in Student Dining. A Production Cook is responsible for proper food safety, preparation, storage, use and cleaning of equipment, evaluating recipes, maintaining reporting, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Prepare Food Skillfully prepare dishes in a timely manner as given on the production sheet. Ensure that all food safety and physical safety procedures are followed in all operations. Ensure that all food products meet the Executive Chef/Sous Chef's standards for service. Evaluate Recipes/Maintain Reporting Review recipes and provide feedback to ensure the best practices and most efficient process are used. Make suggestions for adjustments to recipes when needed by using your culinary expertise to elevate dishes to increase customer satisfaction. Properly record information for food temperatures, cover sheets, production schedules, and any other reports or check-sheets given. Report all maintenance issues to the Supervisor or Manager. Food Safety and Quality Maintain our philosophy that food must above all be safe and then that it be delicious and appealingly presented. Apply all industry best practices to ensure food safety and that all local heath department standards are being meet. Train Cooks Provide, on-going, culinary training to the student cooks you work with in an effort to increase their culinary skills so that they can meet the required standards in food safety, production, presentation, documentation, and recipe execution. FLSA Status - Scanning (Non-exempt) Education Required Education: HSPreferred Education:College Degree - Culinary Arts Work Experience Required Experience: 1+ years in food preparationPreferred Experience:1+ years as a cook or chef Physical Requirements and Skills Ability to lift 10+ pounds, Bend body and knees as needed, Capable of standing and walking for long periods of time, Read and understand directions well Ideal candidates must be born-again Christians and must be dedicated to training young people for serving God; and must desire to educate students based on biblical values and be committed to excellence as a Christian educator who glorifies Christ as the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
