Accounts Payable Specialist As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the Accounts Payable (AP) inbox, filtering and routing invoices to the corresponding companies for approval, and preparing payment batches once invoices are approved. You will also handle check runs on a weekly basis, publish analytics, and provide check run summaries to management. Additionally, you will consolidate statements, contact vendors for missing invoices, W-9, and COI forms, and download invoices from vendor websites. Keeping track of bills to ensure they are not paid late is also an integral part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities: Manage AP Inbox. Filter and route invoices for approval. Prepare batches for payment after approval. Conduct weekly check runs once batches are approved and posted. Publish analytics and provide check run summaries to management. Consolidate statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for. Contact vendors to request missing invoices, W-9, and COI forms. Download invoices from vendor websites. Track bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly bills to avoid late payments. Essential Skills: 1+ year of Accounts Payable experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Basic Microsoft Excel skills (testing required). Experience with high volume invoice processing (200+ invoices per week). Comfortable with manual processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Knowledge of Workday is a plus. Work Environment: The position requires 5 days onsite with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexible start hours are available between 7 am and 9 am, provided a consistent schedule is maintained. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
