Why This Controller Role Is a Great Opportunity Stable and growing construction organization with an established market presence Direct visibility and partnership with executive leadership and project teams High‑impact Controller role with ownership over accounting operations Opportunity to influence processes, controls, and financial reporting practices Engaging, fast‑paced environment tied to active construction projects Long‑term career growth for a construction‑focused Controller Job Duties for the Controller: Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month‑end close, and financial reporting Manage construction accounting activities such as job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and budget development Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting policies Coordinate with external auditors, tax providers, and banking partners Analyze project financial performance and provide insights to leadership Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements Qualifications for the Controller: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with construction industry experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction financials Proven ability to manage deadlines, lead teams, and partner with operations Location: Baltimore, MD (onsite 5 days per week) Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000
