Mover Packer Crew Leader Location: Fairbanks, AK or Anchorage, AK Division: Integrated Marine Logistics Department: 7200 Warehouse & Terminals Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt Reports to: Terminal Manager Summary / Primary Role: The position of Mover Packer Crew Leader will be responsible for providing relocation customers with the highest level of service and quality, while leading the Mover Packer Crew on location. This includes driver responsibilities to/from the job site, packing, unpacking, loading, pick-up and delivery of freight to various customers and company locations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Perform pretrip inspections on all assigned vehicles and ensure required repairs are completed per state and federal regulations. Review daily job requirements and confirm all necessary packing materials and supplies are prepared before departing. Ensure proper packing materials and techniques are used to protect customer belongings. Utilize appropriate equipment for safe loading and unloading to prevent product damage and personal injury. Train, guide, and direct team members to ensure safe, professional, and timely job completion. Operate vehicles in full compliance with local/state traffic laws and company procedures. Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor with customers, coworkers, and the public. Ensure loads are properly stowed, balanced, and secured to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Maximize vehicle capacity while minimizing risk of damage to goods. Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time. Ensure thorough cleanup at each job site and return all tools/equipment to the warehouse at day's end. Adhere to assigned work schedules and meet all delivery timelines and customer expectations. Work collaboratively with crew members to complete tasks efficiently and safely. Apply problemsolving skills to evaluate conditions on the job and make sound decisions. Maintain ongoing communication with team members and dispatch throughout the workday. Follow all safety procedures and policies; promptly report any violations or concerns to management. Demonstrate and promote Odyssey's Core Values in all interactions. Perform other duties as assigned by the crew leader, supervisor, dispatcher, or manager. Qualifications and Key Skills: Must possess a valid Class D driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs safely and repeatedly. Must successfully pass a preemployment physical, drug screen, and background check. Must be able to read and write in English and understand traffic signs, signals, and controls in accordance with FHWA regulations. Ability to complete all required paperwork accurately and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Strong communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from management, customers, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and professionally navigate various traffic, customer, and jobsite situations. Ability to communicate effectively via telephone or radio with dispatch for instructions or guidance. Must always maintain a valid driver's license. Must provide a current DMV driving record upon request. Must be able to obtain and maintain an ICC medical card. Travel Requirements: Some travel required Work Environment: Continual heavy traffic conditions. Time-sensitive delivery requirements. Low to moderate noise levels. Customer service demands. Extreme weather conditions, i.e. snow, ice, rain and dust. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally carry feet. Work in extreme weather conditions, with temperature variances from + 80 degrees Fahrenheit to -50 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the course of a season. Have the ability for close vision, color vision and the ability to focus, with the aid of glasses or contacts, if needed.
