Job Description

Brooksource is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Fortune 500 Energy & Utilities client’s nuclear power efforts. This engineer will support Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) projects for operating nuclear power plants seeking operation up to 80 years. The engineer will be responsible for aging management reviews, system evaluations, regulatory documentation, and development of Aging Management Programs (AMPs) in accordance with NRC requirements (10 CFR 54) and industry guidance. This position requires strong technical evaluation skills, regulatory understanding, and the ability to develop licensing basis documentation supporting safe long-term plant operation. Primarily remote, with up to 25% travel to company facilities in the North/South Carolina region Contract through 2026 with potential for extension or full-time conversion. Work authorization required now and in future. No visa sponsorship available. No Corp-to-Corp or 1099 arrangements. W-2 only. Compensation: $70-$80/hr. dependent on experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Engineering Duties Perform aging management reviews (AMR) for mechanical systems and components Fatigue Thermal aging Corrosion Flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) Stress corrosion cracking Erosion Wear Identify time-limited aging analyses (TLAAs) applicable to mechanical components Review design basis documents and plant operating history Evaluate pressure boundary components including: Piping systems Valves Pumps Tanks Reactor support systems Regulatory and Licensing Work Prepare licensing basis documents including: Aging Management Review reports System scoping evaluations TLAA evaluations Support preparation of: License Renewal Application (LRA) Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) updates Interface with NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) Support regulatory audits and inspections Apply guidance from: NUREG-2192 (SRP-SLR) NEI-95-10 Program Development Develop or enhance Aging Management Programs including: Inspection programs Preventive maintenance programs Condition monitoring programs Identify program gaps and recommend improvements Support program implementation strategies Plant Interface & Cross-Functional Work Work with: Operations staff Maintenance teams Support plant walkdowns Review corrective action program (CAP) items Support operating experience reviews Documentation & Analysis Develop engineering calculations and technical reports Maintain configuration control of technical documents Support design change evaluations where needed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Experience Required: 5–10+ years engineering experience Experience in nuclear power engineering or heavy regulated industry Experience with: Component evaluations Strongly Preferred Experience with: Aging Management Reviews GALL Report Experience supporting: License Renewal (LR) Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Eight Eleven Group provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr
