Our rapid growth has created a need for a Financial Reporting Consultant in our Internal Accounting department based in Southfield, Michigan. We are seeking a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about numbers. This role will focus on building strong technical accounting expertise in financial reporting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and enjoys team collaboration. Your work will include, but not be limited to: Prepare journal entries and supporting workpapers, ensuring accuracy and appropriate documentation Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with company policies and accounting standards Review recurring, non-recurring, and entity-specific journal entries and related workpapers Perform analytical review of variances between actual results, prior year results, and annual plan Prepare management reports to support business and financial decision-making Develop ad hoc reports, financial projections, and data analysis as requested Assist with tax preparation activities, as needed Support external audit preparation, including PBC schedules and auditor inquiries Participate in special projects and other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned The qualifications: Minimum 25 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, and/or tax Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required CPA certification preferred, but not required Experience working with financial reporting systems (ERP or reporting tools) Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis is a plus Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.
