Accounting Manager - Nonprofit Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 (base) + annual performance bonus potential Location: Washington, DC Office Situation: Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote) Why This Opportunity Stands Out: This is the kind of role accountants talk about wanting but rarely find: real ownership without burnout. You are the go-to accounting professional, trusted to run the numbers and given the space to do it well. You’ll work side-by-side with a seasoned finance leader who knows the role inside and out, is invested in training and knowledge transfer, and genuinely wants to set their successor up for success. Work in a professional and mission-driven nonprofit environment where your contributions matter, not just for compliance but for enabling programs that broaden perspectives, strengthen diplomacy, and forge global relationships. You won’t be boxed into AP or AR. You’ll touch everything that matters: close, reporting, grants, audits, and decision-support, the kind of experience that actually builds a career. The hybrid schedule is real and stable (not “for now”), with leadership fully committed to flexibility. Long-term upside is real. As the organization evolves over the next few years, this role naturally grows in responsibility and influence for someone who wants it. Key Responsibilities: Own full-cycle accounting, including month-end close, accruals, and reconciliations Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting for leadership and the board Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity Handle payroll accounting, journal entries, and related schedules (403(b), accruals) Support grant financial reporting and budget tracking (training provided) Prepare audit schedules and support annual audit and tax processes Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting Qualifications: 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience Strong accrual-based accounting knowledge Experience with QuickBooks (Online preferred) Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Comfortable owning day-to-day accounting responsibilities This search is actively moving and interviews will be scheduled quickly. #AccountingManager #NonprofitAccounting #GrantAccounting #FinanceJobs #AccountingJobs #HybridJobs #WashingtonDCJobs #FundAccounting #NonprofitJobs #MissionDrivenCareers #FinanceCareers #CFS #CFstaffing @CFS Accounting Manager Accounting Manager Accounting Manager Accounting Manager Accounting Manager Accounting Manager
